café orlin
Back when I was going to Parsons, in lieu of hitting bars and clubs, we'd go out for coffee and a dessert. One of those places we'd frequent was Café Orlin. It's rambling space, located in three townhouse storefronts, hasn't changed much since college. I never went for breakfast but now that I no longer have morning classes, it's a great time to go.
They pull a perfectly foamed cappuccino and the Middle Eastern breakfast - eggs any way, labna cheese topped with extra virgin olive oil and za'atar, Israeli salad and a pita - is savory happiness. I get a small dish of harissa on the side for an extra spice smack. One thing I didn't learn in college: mornings can taste great.
